Text Box: Here we are in 2008, half way through the year, and I am seeing exciting things happening in the classroom. Our new program is slowly but surely proving our suspicions about building technically stronger and versatile dancers. It is wonderful to see how balance, rhythm and alignment are developing. I am very proud of my instructors and all the dancers who are working very hard and taking on a new genre they might not have had before, embracing it with open hearts. Your attitudes have been phenomenal, and I want to thank dancers and parents for their support in this Text Box: transitional year. I think when the recital comes, you will see the fruits of the labors we are doing right now, and be very proud!
Speaking of the fruits of our labor, it is time (already) to register for summer. This year we have a 7-week summer session. Unlike during the year, students will be able to take whatever they want, and will not be required to register for the ballet/tap combination class in order to take hip hop, modern or jazz. So use the summer to take the class you didn’t take during the year! (but it would be a good idea to continue building
Text Box: on the great work you have been doing all year in ballet/tap!!)
That being said, I do want to make a strong play for students continuing dancing in the summer. Dancers have worked so hard during the year, and just like anything, when you take 3 months off you lose some of the gains you made during the year. At Ballare Teatro, we are offering evening classes and week long camps, so there is surely something that will fit into your busy summer schedule. Keep up your technique—register for summer dance! Ann

Text Box: Our dancers danced their tushies off at the LA Danceforce convention on February 2 and 3. Dancing for 5 hours on Saturday and Sunday (each day!!), they worked hard and proved they can stand up and keep up with dancers from all over the region and Canada! Samantha Warren got singled out for her hip hop skills, and Alex Eady got singled out for her outstanding dancing!
Molly Breen chaperoned on Saturday and we had a great group of dancers attending, and Text Box: we are looking forward to the next convention to test our dancing chops!
Kudos to participants: Gracia Alger, Nicole Cibuzar, Alex Eady, Maggie Fisher, Taylor Fredin, Sari Hoffman-Dachelet, Grace Jacobs, Rachel Karis, Rachel Kranz, Emma Kuczmarski, Becca Leys, Lauren Murphy, Katie Shegstad, Samantha Warren and Elizabeth Williamson!
